Christiansburg Triathlon- Triadventure

I admire those who commit to the challenges that a triathlon brings. The athletes in the Christiansburg triathlon were no exception. They met the challenge of swimming, biking, and running with such enthusiasm. The youngest participants were the most awe inspiring. I am posting a few pictures but the rest can be found and purchased on my smugmug account.

Catch up time again

I have been incredibly busy juggling two jobs, 3 kids, vacation time, and volunteering. So, I want to play a little catch up. Let's start with a recent graduate of Virginia Tech.

Tyler
Tyler is such a fun young man to hang out. Since his major keeps him outdoors, he was quite comfortable taking all of his pictures outside. This was right up my alley. The weather has been so awful here in Virginia, I loved semi warm weather to work with. We were able to hang out around campus and even found our way into the stadium. Here are a few of my favorite shots of Tyler.

Taylor

My baby turned 13 this month. I call her my baby but she is actually the oldest. She will always be my baby. Taylor is very special and has had many challenges in her short 13 years. While life will always be a challenge, you will never know from her spunk. She is definitely the ruler of the house. We jokingly refer to her as "your highness". For her birthday we took her to Disney World. It was a short 2.5 day trip where she was allowed to pick all of her favorite things to do. I believe the highlight of the trip was Taylor dancing with Prince Charming.

Danielle

Danielle is a regular for my camera. She is a super fun teen that I known since she was born. Danielle recently turned 14 and is getting ready for her 8th grade dance. Here are a few shots from her birthday shoot.

Henry is 2

I had the honor of photographing this little boy's parents engagement pictures. They were my very first shoot... EVER! When Henry was born they let me practice my newborn photography on him. I can't believe he is 2. He loves balloons, super heroes, and running very fast. Wow, those little legs can move.  His baby blues will melt any heart. He is a cool little kid and I love him. Happy birthday dude!

Just New...

This year has been a year of newness already. On December 28 we signed away our lives...err... bought a new house.

I L-O-V-E it!!! We finally have room to move around. The other house was starting to feel cramped. The kids now have their own rooms. The most important part is the boy has his own bathroom. Everyone is happy about that. Amazingly enough he now keeps it cleaner that the girls.

We had a party to celebrate and break in the new house.

With the new house comes a new studio. We added a room specifically for photography.
I have already tested it out and love the results of the awesome natural light. I have had two clients try it out.

The best part of the house will be the yard. I don't have pictures yet because the snow is preventing the grass from growing. I can't wait for spring. We have plans for a pergola and a fire pit. This should make for some pretty fun pictures.

The next new is my new camera. I finally upgraded to a full frame camera. I could NOT be happier.
So, I like new! This year is starting out right.

Blessings

I can't believe we are almost finished with 2012. My photography business is taking off and I couldn't be happier about that. The new house with my photography room/studio is almost finished. We only have a couple more weeks and we will be moving in.

Over Thanksgiving my parents came to visit. My sister and her family joined us the day after. We decided to do some family pictures down near the new house. Here are a few shots of my blessings.

Play Time

It is that time again... FOOTBALL TIME!!!

My son is about to begin his last season of flag football. Next year we will be doing full contact but I'm not ready to think about that. Today he and Jasmine worked on his throwing and catching skills. I realized that this boy has some awful facial expressions when catching the ball. We are going to have to work on this.

I have to throw in one of Jasmine's attempt to catch a ball her brother threw.

It was quite entertaining watching these two "practice" in the yard. My semester is going to be filled. Jasmine is doing soccer and running club. Jaden is playing football and violin. In between that we have church activities and school events. I'm exhausted already.

Go over to check out Brook's blog.

Time to play catch up

So the summer is over and this has been a busy one. Some where between camps, swimming lessons, quick trip to DC, and teaching cpr/first-aid I managed to fit in some photo shoots.

This beautiful family was awesome to spend time with. They have welcomed their new baby sister into their family. She was such a doll. She slept through most of our shoot. I wish all babies were as easy going as she was. The parents of these kids have some future models on their hands. They are all beautiful.

Baptism

This shoot was a baptism for a sweet little angel. She did great. She rarely complained even though it was a busy day for such a little one. The baptism was followed by a fun reception at The River Course. Can I just say they had really yummy food?!?!

TWINS!!!

Yesterday I helped a friend and fellow photographer with shooting these beautiful twins. It was a fun challenge. They were sweet babies. Here are a couple from that shoot.
